Are you beautiful?
Of course you are!
"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone. "

Fact or Myth? Washing your hair everyday is bad!
To wash or not wash your hair every day? That is quite often the question.
The rule that washing your hair everyday is bad, is actually a MYTH! Now, this doesn't mean that you have to wash it every day also. How often you wash your hair actually depends on your hair type.
If you have fine hair that is a huge grease ball by the end of the day and dry shampoos and powders do nothing but make your hair a greasy ball of dough, then YES wash your hair more often.
If you have curly, coarse, or frizzy hair that tends to look better on the second or third day, then NO do not wash your hair every day.
Remember that our skin and scalp tend to produce more oil each time we wash it. So be sure to use a professional sulfate free shampoo that is right for your hair type. If you're not sure what that is, stop in for a free product consultation. One of our stylists would be more than happy to prescribe you a hair care regime to fit your lifestyle.

Are you taking care of your skin?
It is extremely important to take care of your skin both inside and out. Food, climate, medications and skin care routines can make all the difference in your skin's overall health.
The Look of your Skin
- Your skin care routine is important if you want your skin to look healthy. Healthy skin looks vibrant, supple and full. Unhealthy skin looks dull and grey. Spots, scars, sun damage and wrinkles can develop faster and sink deeper if your skin is dehydrated, unprotected and unhealthy. As skin ages, it loses elasticity and becomes thinner. Unhealthy skin without a proper skin care health and maintenance will only speed up this process.
Your Skin Care Routine
- Proper skin care means cleansing it properly. Skin needs moisture to survive. Use warm or cool water to cleanse your face. Do not use soap or strong chemicals, they will strip moisture from your skin and oily skin will start to produce even more oil. Keep your body moisturized by applying lotion within a few minutes of bathing. If you have a problem with dry skin, use an oil-based lotion on the problem area several times a day. The skin on your face is much more delicate. Take the time to nurture your skin by treating yourself to a facial by a professional aesthetician. A professional aesthetician will be able to prescribe an appropriate skin care regimen.
Maintaining Healthy Skin
- Have you noticed that your skin is constantly changing? This being said, your skin care system may change from time to time. Hydration, a healthy diet and a daily vitamin can help to maintain skin health. So drink up the H2O, eat your fruits and veggies and gobble up those lean proteins. Wild salmon is a wonderful lean protein that is great for your skin. One thing that won't change about your skin care maintenance is using a moisturizer with SPF during the day. Remember to use a different moisturizer at night that doesn't have SPF. Those ingredients that protect your skin during the day can inhibit cells from renewing at night.
Skin Care During Pregnancy
- Remember your skin is your largest organ and absorbs what you put on it in to your bloodstream. Some topical medications and creams may not be healthy for the little one developing inside, so ask your doctor or skin care professional about current and new products you are applying to your skin.Human Skin Definition:"The human skin is the outer covering of the body. In humans, it is the largest organ of the integumentary system. The skin has multiple layers of ectodermal tissue and guards the underlying muscles, bones, ligaments and internal organs.[1] Human skin is similar to that of most other mammals, except that it is not protected by a pelt. Though nearly all human skin is covered with hair follicles, it appears hairless. There are two general types of skin, hairy and glabrous skin.[2] The adjective cutaneous literally means "of the skin" (from Latincutis, skin).Because it interfaces with the environment, skin plays a key role in protecting (the body) against pathogens[3] and excessive water loss.[4]Its other functions are insulation, temperature regulation, sensation, synthesis of vitamin D, and the protection of vitamin B folates. Severely damaged skin will try to heal by forming scar tissue. This is often discolored and depigmented. In humans, skin pigmentation varies among populations, and skin type can range from dry to oily. Such skin variety provides a rich and diverse habit for bacteria which number roughly at 1000 species from 19"Definition provided by Wikpedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_skin

Frizzy Curls? Use a diffuser to dry your hair... here's how!
Diffuse your curls!
The purpose of a hair diffuser is to dry your curly locks without moving the hair too much which can cause that fried or frizzy look which is what happens when you use your standard hair dryer.
1. Take the hair diffuser attachment and attach it to the front end of the hair dryer. You should be able to fit it on easily, though you may need to press it down firmly to get the attachment to stay on.
2: Move the hair dryer with the diffuser upwards and place the diffuser on the top of your head. You want to first focus on the roots of your hair when using the diffuser.
3: Turn on your hair dryer and begin to dry your hair with the hair diffuser. You will want to keep the hair dryer on either a low or medium setting, as a high setting will create too much force and cause frizzes.
4: When moving the hair diffuser around your head. Be sure that you are making circular motions around your head. This only further helps evenly distribute the heat of the air around your head. If you want to intensify your curl, scrunch your hair at the same time.
5: When your roots are 90% dry move the diffuser down to the ends of your hair. You can help encourage the development of the curls by scrunching your hair as you dry it.
6: To really give your hair a quick shot of volume, flip your head upside down and then focus on moving the diffuser to the roots of your hair. This will really give your hair a lot more lift and a lot more volume. For less volume, only dry your hair until it is about 80% dry. Then let the rest air dry.
To help eliminate frizz and define curls, it is important to use a good curl cream, gel or spray. There are many types of curly hair so therefore many different types of curl products. Not every curly girl can use the same curl products as the other. Ask your stylist what products she would recommend for you and in the mean time keep your curls hydrated by using a moisturizing, sulfate free shampoo and conditioner.
